URTICA DIOICA · TARGETED PROSTATE FLOW
Nettle Leaf
A time-honored botanical traditionally used to support healthy fluid balance and a comfortable urinary tract. Nettle Leaf is naturally rich in flavonoids and minerals, and research on standardized leaf extracts shows it calms key inflammatory signals, including NF-kB, to help maintain a soothed, easy-flowing system.*
What is Nettle Leaf?
Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) is a leafy plant found across Europe, Asia and North America. Its leaves have been used as food and as a traditional herbal remedy for centuries. Nettle leaf is naturally rich in flavonoids, minerals and chlorophyll.
Why it's in Targeted Prostate Flow
Nettle leaf has a long traditional use for flushing the urinary tract and supporting healthy fluid balance. It is naturally rich in flavonoids and minerals, and research on standardized leaf extracts shows it calms key inflammatory signals, including NF-kB, helping maintain a soothed, easy-flowing system.*
What the research shows
- European Medicines Agency monograph (2025): Nettle herb is recognized for traditional use to increase urine flow and help flush the urinary tract in minor urinary complaints, together with adequate fluid intake.
- Lab research (FEBS Letters, 1999): A standardized nettle leaf extract strongly blocked activation of NF-kB, a key switch for inflammatory signals, in human and animal cells.*
- Human clinical trial (Clinical Laboratory): In a 3-month, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, adults with type 2 diabetes who took nettle leaf extract had improved blood sugar markers compared with placebo.*
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between nettle leaf and nettle root?
They come from the same plant but have different uses. Nettle root is studied mainly for prostate size, while nettle leaf is traditionally used for fluid balance and urinary flushing and has anti-inflammatory properties. Targeted Prostate Flow uses the leaf.
Will it sting?
No. The sting comes from tiny hairs on the fresh plant. Drying and extraction remove it completely.
